Maruhiro was founded in Nagasaki in 1989. It oversees a number of distinguished ceramic brands, including Hasami, Baba Shoten and Monohara. Nagasaki Prefecture, and particularly the town of Hasami, is known as one of the most prolific areas of porcelain manufacture in Japan and boasts a long lineage of esteemed pottery traditions and techniques.
