These aluminium clothes pegs were made by small manufacturers in Tokyo. Miscellaneous household items like these are collectively called aramono in Japanese and are often made by ordinary people and small family businesses. However, with the appearance of mass-produced plastic products these businesses started to decline over the decades. Aluminium clothes pegs such as these, however, are a lot more durable than their plastic competitors making them the preferred choice of many. Owing to their durability, these pegs can be used for a long time, which also makes them more sustainable.
Doesn’t require special care.

The central Chūbu region is predominantly mountainous, home to the rugged Japan Alps with coasts on both the Sea of Japan and the Pacific Ocean. The region's history has been shaped by its strategic position between the great cities of Kyoto and Tokyo with Nagoya at its heart. Niigata lies to the north while Mt Fuji can be found in the south in Shizuoka Prefecture.
