A bamboo scraper made in Kagoshima Prefecture for Matsunoya, a wholesaler specializing in everyday tools made from natural materials.
This scraper is made from madake bamboo in Kagoshima Prefecture. The tip is shaved to an appropriate thickness and finely split, giving it the flexibility and resilience characteristic of bamboo. These properties allow it to remove grated ingredients such as ginger or garlic cleanly from the surface of a grater without damaging the blade or the food.
It is also useful for scattering finely grated citrus additions, such as orange or lemon zest, onto dishes or into beverages. The flexible tips provide easy handling without being overly soft.
The scraper is produced by Tokyo-based Matsunoya, an aramono (miscellaneous daily items) wholesaler founded in 1945.
Ensure it is fully dry before storing.
