Two Nejiri Rice Bowls
These rice bowls depict nejiri ume, an outline of the plum flower with circular petals spiralling, created with tedami, a skilled technique involving filling in the outlines of a pattern by hand. The historical pattern of nejiri ume and handcraft of tedami combined with the modern design of the rice bowls was highly commended and earned the GOOD DESIGN Award in 2011.
Two Hinoki Chopsticks
These chopsticks are crafted from hinoki (Japanese cypress) and finished with beeswax in Obama City, Fukui Prefecture. The carefully designed chopsticks have the distinctive aroma and the gentle lustre of hinoki.
Two Nejiri Rice Bowls
Not suitable for dishwasher, microwave and oven as it can cause the pattern to peel off.

Chūbu
The central Chūbu region is predominantly mountainous, home to the rugged Japan Alps with coasts on both the Sea of Japan and the Pacific Ocean. The region's history has been shaped by its strategic position between the great cities of Kyoto and Tokyo with Nagoya at its heart. Niigata lies to the north while Mt Fuji can be found in the south in Shizuoka Prefecture.
