This book follows the evolution and development of the acclaimed Japanese designer Shibata Fumie over the past fifteen years.
Beginning with product design, Shibata Fumie’s extensive collection of work has evolved to include electronics, housewares and hotel designs. The monograph is put into context through the designer’s intimate, inside perspective of her designs including written pieces about their concepts, background and inspirations, accompanied by composed photographs of the final designed object.
Shibata Fumie is a designer based in Tokyo, recognised for detailed expressions of form and wide range of products such as electronics to medical equipment. She has served as Chair of the Judging Committee of the Good Design Award from 2018 to 2020 and also a Japan Design Committee member.
