Furoshiki wrapping cloth with a nostalgic candy design.
Furoshiki (wrapping cloth) represent a long-standing practice of Japanese wrapping, which dates back over a thousand years. Historically used to protect items or wrap gifts, the cloth is reusable and can be tied to create an eco-conscious bag.
Each cloth is carefully printed by artisans using nassen, a block printing technique that produces vivid colors and fine detail.
Thie design features small polka dots inspired by konpeitō, a confectionery introduced from Portugal in the 16th century. Its name comes from the Portuguese word confeito. Made through a slow and careful process, konpeitō symbolizes gradual growth and is often associated with weddings and anniversaries.
