The wrapping culture of Japan has developed across more than 1,000 years, and wrapping things in cloth is said to have already been a custom by the Nara period (710-794 CE). Furoshiki continue to be used in many ways, from binding precious objects as a means to protect them, to wrapping gifts decoratively, or to carry objects from place to place.
This water-resistant furoshiki is crafted by repurposing polyester fibers from reclaimed uniforms, used for the fabric’s weft. Its design features a knot motif, symbolizing the bond between people, making it an ideal choice for expressing gratitude, or for family celebrations and weddings.
Thanks to its generous size, the furoshiki offers versatile functionality—it can wrap around a backpack to serve as a water repellent cover or be tied into a convenient shopping bag for groceries. Its easy-to-clean surface makes it equally useful as a picnic sheet, tablecloth, or nappy-changing mat.

Iron the outer side of the furoshiki once it loses its water resistance and it will regain its water resistant quality.
Machine washable: however, avoid using softener or bleach as it can affect the product’s water resistance.
