An Arita porcelain tea cup hand-painted with an auspicious arabesque design.
This hand-painted tea cup is decorated with an arabesque pattern in gosu (cobalt oxide) blue on white porcelain. The endless vine motif with stylized leaves is associated with prosperity and the flourishing of future generations, making it a popular design for everyday tableware. The gently flared rim makes the cup comfortable to drink from, while its shape sits well in the hand.
Established in 1957 near Arita in Saga Prefecture, Keizangama is a family-run porcelain workshop specializing in hand-painted tableware. Each design is carefully transferred and traced by hand, then glazed and fired before the application of overglaze colours.
Available in two designs: a full arabesque pattern and a round motif featuring two variations of the arabesque pattern.
