A recipe book by Tim Anderson, introducing a diverse range of over 80 dishes for each meal of the day.
This recipe book by chef Tim Anderson introduces a wide variety of Japanese meals, from bento to donburi, in an approachable, informative and easy-to-follow manner.
Anderson explains the structures of a Japanese meal with detailed insight into their cultural background and narrates personal observations from his experience living in Japan. Referencing the practice of tsukurioki (meal preparation in advance) the recipes accommodate busy lifestyles with dishes that can be cooked ahead of time and eaten later, cold or reheated. The book features vibrant illustrations and enticing photographs of over 80 recipes, not only for dinner but lunch, breakfast and the moments in between.
Tim Anderson is a London-based chef born in Wisconsin. He studied Japanese food history at Occidental College and moved to Japan after graduating in 2006. After moving with his wife to London in 2008, Anderson went on to win MasterChef in 2011. Since then he has published several Japanese cuisine books and is a regular contributor to the culinary panel show, The Kitchen Cabinet.
