This is the second volume of MUJI BOOK, originally published in 2010 to mark MUJI’s 30th anniversary. This edition explores MUJI’s philosophy, approach to products, and relationship with society over the decade following the first edition.
Spanning more than 390 pages, the book combines rich visuals with contributions from 30 figures, including Lidewij Edelkoort, Fujimori Terunobu and Fukasawa Naoto, offering insight into contemporary ways of living. It invitesreaders to view MUJI’s activities as a form of history, while also presenting a vision for the future.
The opening texts include ‘Like Water and Air’ by Kanai Masaaki, Chairman and Representative Director of Ryohin Keikaku Co., Ltd. and ‘The Age of Unnovation’ by Lidewij Edelkoort, a trend forecaster, publisher, humanitarian, design educator and exhibition curator.
Other contributors include Fukuoka Shin’ichi, Joe Gebbia, Hara Kenya and Hayashi Noriko, among a total of 30.
