A papier-mâché talisman commemorating 2024, the Year of the Dragon, produced in Kanzawa.
Presented by the popular brand Nakagawa Masashichi, this papier-mâché dragon is a kind of talisman, created in celebration of 2024, the Year of the Dragon.
The figurine was handcrafted by Nakajima Menya in Kanazawa, a company established in 1862 to create props for village plays. Today, the manufacturer is also well known for its beautifully crafted kaga dolls and other local toys.
The talisman takes the shape of a flying dragon, an auspicious symbol ascending from the sea to the sky, carrying wishes for happiness from above.
Do not get wet.
Colour will transfer if rubbed.
Avoid exposure to direct sunlight, air conditioning winds, or in an an environment with a fluctuating temperature.
Handle with care.
Keep out of reach of children.
Individual pieces vary in colour and size as each piece is handmade.
