This carefully designed incense plate was inspired by inkstones used in Japanese brush calligraphy and made using a combination of centuries-old Arita porcelain traditions and modern ceramic manufacturing techniques used only in Saga Prefecture. The plate comes with an incense stand that can be inserted in its groove and positioned according to its user’s needs. The angle of the stand can be adjusted to the varying length of the incense stick, ensuring it is aligned to the plate beneath and ash drops only onto the plate.
When using it, keep it on a stable surface away from flammable objects.
This is Japan’s south-west region including the island of Kyūshū and the sub-tropical island chain of Okinawa. Kyūshū was an early centre of Japanese civilization, and offers many historic treasures, modern cities and volcanic natural beauty. It is home to the ports of Kagoshima, Nagasaki and Fukuoka, the porcelain manufacturing centre in Arita and the Tanegashima Space Center launch site.
