Group monomono is a project team formed in 1970 by Akioka Yoshio, a central figure of the KAK design group, based in Tokyo and known for their role in the revival of woodworking and other handicrafts in Japan.
The industrial design firm KAK was established in 1953 by Akioka Yoshio, Kawa Junnosuke and Kaneko Itaru, each bringing individual strengths to their industrial design practice.
