A bell-shaped straw decoration with a zigzag-shaped paper shide streamer.
This bell-shaped straw decoration was crafted by designer Nagaura Chie, who founded the brand Tier in 2013.
Straw decorations and shimenawa (ropes made from rice straw or hemp, used for purification) come in a wide variety of shapes and have been used in Japan for centuries. Hanging a straw decoration is believed to cleanse and purify a space in preparation for the new year.
Each bell is decorated with a zigzag-shaped paper streamer, called shide.

Due to the use of natural materials, the colour will gradually change over time.
