The Artworks of Mayu Yukishita is the first artbook collating the photorealistic illustrations of young Japanese artist, Yukishita Mayu. From works presented in exhibitions through to illustrations commissioned by her clients such as music magazines, this book captures the trajectory of her illustration career from the very beginning.

Yukishita Mayu (b. 1995) studied graphic design at Tama Art University. She has been working as an illustrator for advertisements, music and book cover design, and recently founded her own fashion brand, Esth. As an artist, she works in a photorealistic style, creating paintings in oil and acrylic, as well as digitally. In some of her works, she also incorporates elements of manga; in her portraits, for example, she enlarges the eyes slightly. The images, mostly of young women who stare boldly at the viewer, have a dark, moody quality to them, and an emotional edge that expands on the realism of the work.
