This book explores its historical and philosophical foundations, examines how the form has been adopted within contemporary ceramics and investigates its present-day use. In addition, it surveys a wide variety of tea bowls and introduces ceramic artists from around the world who continue to produce them.
Bonnie Kemske is a professional writer and critic, as well as a ceramic artist with a PhD from the Royal College of Art, UK. She was editor of Ceramic Review from 2010 to 2013 and has contributed articles to many international magazines. She is the author of Kintsugi: The Poetic Mend.
