The name, Torotoro No Umeshu describes the thick viscosity of this umeshu (plum liqueur). Produced from ume (Japanese plum) sourced from Nishiyoshino, Nara Prefecture, this umeshu incorporates both purée and pulp of the fruit, resulting in the rich texture of the drink.
Torotoro No Umeshu is crafted in Nara Prefecture by Yagi Shuzō, a brewery founded in the late 1800s, by infusing sake and shōchū (a distilled spirit) with ume. The brewery continues to use the historical sake brewing method bodaimoto developed by local monks in the 15th century, a technique which adds to the distinct depth of sweet flavours of the umeshu.
Recommended to be drunk on the rocks, or on its own to enjoy the aroma and sweet flavours. The bottle label has been exclusively designed in the style of hanafuda (Japanese playing cards) illustrating Japanese plum flowers.

Best serve well chilled or with ice.
