This Aikata yukihira nabe (a lightweight and versatile saucepan usually with a spout) is produced from durable stainless steel by the skilled craftspeople of Tsubame-Sanjo in Niigata Prefecture, an area renowned for its metalworking expertise. The nabe is ideal for boiling or stewing dishes as its rounded body supports the circulation of liquid, ensuring the ingredients are evenly heated and consistently immersed in broth. The design of this yukihira nabe features two spouts on opposite sides and has been carefully engineered to ensure seamless pouring without spillage. By shifting the lid over the spouts, the amount of steam released can be adjusted, also allowing enough space to accommodate a ladle while the lid is in place.
Due to the refinements made to the design of the spouts, the Aikata yukihira nabe was awarded the GOOD DESIGN AWARD in 2022.
