Hitoiki Tumbler

Expertly hand-crafted mage-wappa (bent woodware) tumbler made from cedar wood from Akita Prefecture.

£48 per item

The mage-wappa technique used to make this tumbler involves boiling and carefully bending thin sheets of 200-year old Akita cedar to create the shape of the container. The antibacterial properties of cedar make this tumbler an extra safe drinking container.

Avoid using baking soda or bleach to clean it. The products may swell when exposed to moisture and may shrink when drying. It takes more than a day to completely dry after washing. Using it before it is dry may lead to discolouration.
