Said to have developed in the Muromachi period (1336-1573), Yatsuo washi is a highly durable Japanese paper from Toyama Prefecture, which was historically used to wrap precious medicines. Produced in a studio located in Yatsuo Town, this cylinder-shaped paper box is hand made by skilled experts who specialize in stencil-dyed Japanese paper. Decorated with captivating patterns of vivid colours, this paper box is at once useful and a connection to Toyama’s paper-making heritage.

Individual products will differ slightly due to the handmade and hand-dyed nature of the product.
