An award-winning aluminium yosenabe (cooking pot for creating vegetable and seafood hot pot) produced in Higashi-Osaka, Osaka Prefecture.
This yosenabe (cooking pot for creating vegetable and seafood hot pot) produces a single serving and is designed to move seamlessly from stove to table, functioning as both cookware and tableware. Crafted from aluminium, it heats quickly and evenly due to the metal’s high thermal conductivity.
Originally manufactured in 1957 for cooking instant noodles, the pot has since become popular for a variety of dishes ranging from udon to kakigōri (shaved ice dessert), owing to its ability to heat or cool rapidly. Its stackable form and fully recyclable material embody its functionality and sustainability.
In 2012, the pot received the GOOD DESIGN AWARD’s Long Life Award in recognition of its enduring utility and thoughtful design.
