Furoshiki wrapping cloth with bold hemp leaf design.
Furoshiki (wrapping cloth) represent a long-standing practice of Japanese wrapping, which dates back over a thousand years. Historically used to protect items or wrap gifts, the cloth is reusable and can be tied to create an eco-conscious bag.
Each cloth is carefully printed by artisans using nassen, a block printing technique that produces vivid colors and fine detail.
The motif, called asanoha (hemp leaf), represents growth and health, and is inspired by meisen kimono designs from the Taisho period (1912–1926).
