The Ganso glass soy sauce cruet is produced by highly-skilled craftspeople at Tokyo’s oldest glassmaker, Hirota Glass. The innovative sealing of this glass dispenser was invented to prevent its content from leaking or dripping at the neck – something that was a common problem among glass dispensers before its release in 1976. The word ganso means ‘originator’ in Japanese and refers to the product’s timeless design that has remained unchanged ever since its release, that has received the Good Design Long Life Design Award in 2020.
