Kasama-yaki is a style of pottery produced in the area around Kasama City in Ibaraki Prefecture. Kasama-yaki pieces have great diversity, come in many different shapes and forms, and are decorated according to the style of each craftsperson, who follows their practice without being constrained by tradition. This cup was made using clay from the area of Hasami and is decorated with layers of special glaze, which when fired produces a distinct blue colour and rough finish.

There might be slight differences as each piece is handmade.
