This popular desk calendar features the classic works of renowned stencil artist Serizawa Keisuke, who was designated a Bearer of Important Intangible Cultural Property (‘Living National Treasure’) in 1956.
The calendar comes in a compact size and features a beautiful selection of images for every month of 2024.
Part of the Japanese mingei (folk art) movement, Serizawa encountered Okinawan dyeing (bingata) through his lifelong teacher, Yanagi Sōetsu, and began focusing on stencil dyeing (katazome).
Crafted using the same materials and techniques as in its early days, this calendar is a reprint of the original stencil-dyed version that has been continuously produced since 1945, with new editions made by Serizawa until his death in 1985.
The 2024 calendar is a reprint of the 1968 (Showa 43) calendar.
No special care instructions.

The central Chūbu region is predominantly mountainous, home to the rugged Japan Alps with coasts on both the Sea of Japan and the Pacific Ocean. The region's history has been shaped by its strategic position between the great cities of Kyoto and Tokyo with Nagoya at its heart. Niigata lies to the north while Mt Fuji can be found in the south in Shizuoka Prefecture.
