This stainless steel measure scoop is made in the area of Tsubame-Sanjo, Niigata Prefecture, famous for its heritage of skilled metalworking and home to numerous workshops and craftspeople. The scoop is designed to hold 10g worth of coffee beans, the ideal amount for a cup of coffee for most people. A testimony to the makers’ attention to detail, the long handle allows its user to easily scoop the beans even from the bottom of deep containers and canisters. The hook-like handle also allows it to be hanged or it can be stored within the canister itself as it’s designed not to take up much space.

The central Chūbu region is predominantly mountainous, home to the rugged Japan Alps with coasts on both the Sea of Japan and the Pacific Ocean. The region's history has been shaped by its strategic position between the great cities of Kyoto and Tokyo with Nagoya at its heart. Niigata lies to the north while Mt Fuji can be found in the south in Shizuoka Prefecture.
