A translucent bag created from surplus fabric originally designed to cover football pitches.
This bag is created by mate mono, a brand established by Komatsu Matere, a leading textile manufacturer with nearly 80 years of experience in fabric dyeing and development. Focusing on reusing scrap materials and minimising production waste, the brand reworks surplus materials into functional designs.
The bag is constructed from fabric originally developed to cover football pitches and protect the grass. Mate mono repurposes the material’s rigidity to give the bag structure and durability, while keeping it lightweight and easy to carry. Its vivid colour is enhanced by playful translucency and a subtle surface sheen. A drawstring opening allows the shape to shift from rectangular to triangular, adapting to its contents and use.
Available in khaki, black, and teal.
Please avoid putting unnecessary pressure on the material as it can deform.

Chūbu
The central Chūbu region is predominantly mountainous, home to the rugged Japan Alps with coasts on both the Sea of Japan and the Pacific Ocean. The region's history has been shaped by its strategic position between the great cities of Kyoto and Tokyo with Nagoya at its heart. Niigata lies to the north while Mt Fuji can be found in the south in Shizuoka Prefecture.
