The opalescent pattern on this glass is known as “milky glass”, and is crafted by highly-skilled craftspeople using a technique known as aburadashi (using bone ash at the time of moulding), a technique popular during the Meiji (1868-1912 CE) and Taishō (1912-1926 CE) eras.
Clean it with water using a soft sponge and mild detergent.
Not dishwasher, oven or microwave safe.
