Hotei Bento Box

Expertly hand-crafted mage-wappa (bent woodware) bento box made from cedar wood.

£240 per item

The mage-wappa technique used to make this bento box involves boiling and carefully bending thin sheets of 200-year-old Akita cedar to create the shape of the container. The antibacterial properties of cedar prevent food from spoiling.

Avoid using baking soda or bleach to clean it.

The products may swell when exposed to moisture and may shrink when drying.

It takes more than a day to completely dry after washing.

Using it before it is dry may lead to discolouration.
