Heptagon Chopsticks

A pair of heptagonal chopsticks made in Tokyo from carefully selected high-quality ironwood.

£75 per item

The chopsticks of Daikokuya are handmade by skilled craftspeople who specialise in Edo Kibashi – a type of chopstick first created in Tokyo over a hundred years ago, which uses carefully selected woods of the highest grade. Heptagonal chopsticks are said to be the most stable and comfortable to hold, and are therefore easy to use. The heptagonal angles of 51.4 degrees are, however, difficult to carve by hand and require utmost precision from the craftspeople who utilise this precious natural material.
